Position: Development Associate
Status: Full-Time, Salaried, Non-Exempt

Reports To: Executive Director
Schedule: 40 hours per week, primarily weekdays with occasional evenings and weekends for events

 

ABOUT THE POSITION 


The Development Associate will support VIVA’s fundraising initiatives, manage donor relations, and assist with donor cultivation and stewardship activities. This position plays a crucial role in sustaining the organization by overseeing donor databases, supporting events, and contributing to fundraising strategies. Working closely with the Executive Director and collaborating with internal teams, the Development Associate will help build and maintain relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assist in cultivating relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation donors, creating a strong base of support for VIVA.

  • Draft donor acknowledgment letters and reports, ensuring timely and meaningful communication with supporters.

  • Maintain our donor database, processing gifts, and generating reports to support fundraising efforts.

  • Help plan and execute annual giving campaigns and fundraising events, including performances and the Envision Gala.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to produce compelling development content for newsletters, reports, and event invitations.

  • Coordinate donor meetings and events, and provide administrative support for grant applications and fundraising projects.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.

  • 1-3 years experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or administrative support.

  • Skilled in donor database management and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.

  • Experience in event planning and coordination is highly desirable.

  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Commitment to VIVA’s mission and values.
